Training/Seminar October 2016

Training for Health and Safety Officers in work places, and property managers on 11 October 2016 in Marriott Court Yard Barbados.

About the Symposium

Why should buildings in Barbados improve their indoor air quality (IAQ)?  Environmental Comfort & Safety Solutions Ltd. has invited international IAQ expert Ian Cull to address this question and many others in a one-day seminar on Tuesday, On Tuesday, 11th October, 2016, 8:30am to 5:00pm at the Marriott Courtyard Conference Room.

You will learn that a building’s IAQ can actually impact worker productivity and well-being.  When the benefits are stacked up against the minimal additional costs for IAQ upgrades, you will wondering why all buildings in Barbados do not take air quality more seriously.  The seminar will cover new research that further supports the benefits of improved indoor air quality.

Understanding the benefits of improved IAQ requires a fundamental understanding of all the contaminants that can pose a problem.  In this seminar you will learn about mould and by the end you will be able to describe why it grows indoors and how it can be prevented.  The seminar also covers other contaminants such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can pose problems, especially in newly renovated buildings. You will also learn about indoor allergens which can trigger allergies and asthma.  By understanding all the important contaminants, you will be ready to operate your buildings to control these problems.

One of the most common ways of controlling IAQ problems is the air conditioning system.  In this seminar, you will learn about the importance of outdoor air ventilation, filtration and humidity control (and the resulting problems when they are not taken seriously).

We hope you will join us for this one-of-a-kind opportunity to hear an international IAQ expert here in Barbados!

The Training Seminar will cost Bds$350 per session, and will include a snack at break and lunch. Payments may be made by cheque, payable to ECSS Ltd. Special rates are available for organizations registering four or more persons. The deadline for registration is September 30th 2016.
